Missed Lessons and Cancelations
• There will be no refunds, credits, or deductions for missed lessons.
• If your teacher cancels a lesson, a credit will be issued unless a make-up time is agreed upon.
• To report an absence more than 24 hours away, log in to http://lewismusicstudio.net, navigate to the lesson that will be missed on the schedule. Report the absence, and the computer will give you a make-up credit. To use a make-up credit, find an open make-up lesson on your teacher's schedule and register.
• To report an absence less than 24 hours away, call, text, or email your teacher directly.
• Tardiness: Student promptness is the responsibility of the student/parent; time lost will not be made up. In the event of teacher tardiness, the time will be made up.
• There will be no make-up lessons given for Melodic Introductions or Itsy Bitsy Music Classes. You can, however, join a different class if space is available as a make-up.
Inclement Weather
• We will post cancelations due to inclement weather on Facebook, and we will also send an email and try to contact each student effected.
•Lessons canceled by the studio or teacher due to inclement weather will be rescheduled or credited to the student.
Family/Student Responsibilities
• Positive parental involvement is essential.
• Daily practice is necessary for progress. The teacher may ask that practice times are recorded on a practice chart. Students may pick up a practice challenge sheet in the lobby or fill out the practice log in their student portal.
Recommended practice goals:
• Students ages 3-6: 15 minutes daily
• Students in Level 1: 30 minutes daily
• Students in Levels 2&3: 40 minutes daily
• Students are required to have an instrument at home for practice. See the page for the specific instrument or talk to your teacher for details about the requirements for a student instrument.
Environment
• Discussions with teachers concerning student progress, schedule changes, billing questions, etc. should be initiated at the beginning of the lesson or at a mutually agreed upon time.
• The teacher should be advised of any learning disabilities or other special physical or emotional needs of the student or family.
• Lewis Music Studio does not discriminate and does not permit discrimination, including, without limitation, bullying, abuse or harassment, on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, gender, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. • Parents and guests are always permitted to watch the lesson, but friends may be asked to wait in the lounge if they are disruptive.
• No smoking is permitted on the property, and unfortunately our landlord does not allow dogs on the property.
• Students may be asked to remove jewelry that interferes with proper playing.
